Awakening the Seeds of Spring
A Fire Ceremony for the Equinox
Spring Equinox Fire Ceremony – Embracing the Season of Rebirth
As the earth awakens from winter’s embrace, we gather in sacred ceremony to honor the return of warmth, light, and new life. The Spring Equinox Fire Ceremony invites you to step into the balance of this potent seasonal shift on Saturday, March 22nd, at 4 p.m. at the Sacred Fire Pit at Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph.
Rooted in the Mexica/Toltec traditions, this ceremony aligns us with the energy of Flower/Xochitl, a symbol of blossoming potential, creativity, and the beauty of life in full expression. Just as nature begins to bloom, this is a time to set intentions, release what no longer serves, and open ourselves to new possibilities.
🔥 What to Expect 🔥
We will open the space in the traditional Nahuatl way, as we have been taught, calling in the energies of the Four Directions, the Cosmos, and Mother Earth to guide and support our ceremony. Participants are invited to bring a drum or rattle to join in this opening invocation, grounding us in sacred rhythm.
Throughout the ceremony, we will engage in:
🌱 A Seed & Bulb Ritual & Blessing – A sacred act of planting intentions for the new cycle, aligning with nature’s rhythms.
🔥 A Release Ritual with the Fire – Letting go of what no longer serves us, offering it to the flames for transformation.
🎶 Songs & Shared Music – Lifting our voices in song and prayer, weaving our collective energy into the ceremony, with the drum and rattle carrying our intentions.
This is a space of deep reverence and connection, where we gather not only in community but also in reciprocity with the land that holds us.
🌿 What to Bring 🌿
A small offering for the altar (such as a flower, herb, stone, or written intention).
A mug for hot tea, which we will provide.
A drum or rattle (for both the opening invocation and the music).
A chair or blanket if you’d like to sit comfortably.
Warm, comfortable clothing suitable for the outdoors.
💛 Join Us in Sacred Ceremony 💛
This gathering is open to all and is offered by donation, with all contributions gifted back to the land and its caretakers.
Come as you are, with an open heart, and together, we will honor the renewal of life, the balance of the equinox, and the sacred fire that connects us all.
✨ We invite you to join us in this sacred gathering of renewal and transformation. ✨
