Heart Opening Cacao Recipe

Enjoy this sacred beverage to enhance your health and your daily meditation practice or ritual

Cacao is a beautiful heart-opening, grounding, and nourishing drink. It is quite different than “hot chocolate” since the cacao paste used is raw and unprocessed. The cacao tree is native to the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. It has since been domesticated and grows in many tropical regions of the world, most notably the South and Central Americas. Cacao is a sacred heart medicine, and when you drink it you can feel the warmth, both physically and energetically. Enjoy this special recipe!

Ingredients:

2-4 tbsp raw cacao ( I recommend starting with 2 tbsp)

¾ cup water

1 tbsp honey or sweetener of choice

1 tbsp coconut milk or grass fed butter

pinch salt

pinch cinnamon

Optional: nutmeg, turmeric, rose, cayenne, vanilla

Directions:

Heat all ingredients in a saucepan, whisking regularly and taking care not to let the mixture boil. When it is almost boiling, use a milk frother or a blender to whip it all up. I use this milk frother. If you don’t have a frother or a blender on hand, make sure to heat the mixture slowly, on low heat, whisking constantly, to get the desired texture.
