October blessings from my heart to yours

Ancestral Fire Ceremony, Elderberry Elixir, lots of new salves, & more...

Hello sweet friends!

It seems that fall has finally arrived. The season thus far has been uncannily warm, but the past few days have felt true to form again.

I’ve been busy making herbal remedies. Some are still steeping and some are ready. Here’s what I have ready:

  1. I have a potent elderberry elixir and an elderberry syrup to help prevent and shorten cold/flu symptoms. The elixir is a combination of wild elderberries, raw local honey, and brandy. It’s delicious! The elderberry syrup is a combination of wild elderberries, raw local honey, cinnamon chips and rose hips for a delicious burst of flavor. I usually give the syrup to the kids and use the elixir for myself during the cold season. Elderberry has been shown to help prevent cold/flu, and also to shorten the duration of cold/flu when used as prescribed.

  2. I also have a St. John’s wort salve and tincture ready and stocked. The salve is traditionally used for nerve pain such as sciatica and even neuralgia. It is also a potent wound healer and is a great thing to have in a first aid kit. Where the salve aids nerve pain, when used internally, the tincture is used for balancing the nervous system. It is commonly used for mild depression symptoms, and seasonal affective disorder. There’s a reason it’s known as a bottle of sunshine!

  3. Salves, salves, salves! I have been enjoying making all sorts of salves this fall. In addition to the St. John’s Wort salve, I have comfrey salve, mugwort salve, and plantain/lavender salve for sale. I can also make a custom muscle pain salve, or a dry skin calendula salve. I usually make enough for myself and my children, but if you’d like one, please reach out! The comfrey salve is another great addition to the first aid kit - it aids the healing of muscle strains, sprains, and even broken bones. The mugwort salve I use on my womb space. I originally had made a mugwort oil, which was lovely, but I found it to be a bit messy so I made it into a salve. I use the mugwort salve when I do a mayan abdominal massage - which helps tone and strengthen the uterus. It’s also an intuitive practice i do to connect deeper with my womb space and my creative centre. If you choose to purchase a mugwort salve from me, I will show you the technique used to do the mayan abdominal massage. The plantain/lavender salve has been a lifesaver over the summer, as it soothes itchy bugbites, itchy rashes, and works very quickly on bee/wasp/hornet stings. I really had no idea if it would actually work when i first made it, but it has proved to be a potent ally in my life, and others have reported the same!

Oh! and I almost forgot to mention - my 2024 stock of tinctures are 50% off this month. So usually $20 a bottle, they are now $10 a bottle. I have chaga, cramp ease, parasite cleanse, mullein leaf, dandelion leaf, and burdock root available.

And as we’re moving into the colder months, you may wish to stock up on some high quality cacao paste. I have lots available for sale, in 1lb or 1/2lb bags. Cacao is a special friend to me, with its warming and heart opening qualities, and I use it regularly over the winter months. When you purchase some from me, I will share my favourite ways to prepare it, as a delicious hot drink and as quick pick me up snack.

And one last thing before I sign off for today… I’m hosting another Ancestral Fire Ceremony on November 2nd. Join us as we gather around the sacred fire to honour, remember, and celebrate our ancestors and loved ones who have passed on.
Together, we will share tea, stories, and offerings of love, weaving our memories into the flames in reflection and gratitude. See the poster below for all the details. Reply to this email to RSVP and please spread the word!
