Hello February: The Season of Love

Hello sweet friends,

Welcome to February! Can you believe it’s already February! I can’t, actually. It feels like perhaps time has sped up? Or maybe we’re time traveling already? Who knows…

I’ve been delighting in the simple things lately. A delicious mug of cacao. The warm sun on a crisp winter morning. Morning home-school lessons with my eldest. The squeals of my children playing monsters together. The chickadees at the bird feeder. The fluffy fluffy squirrels in my backyard.

This year I’m really trying to slow down and be present. Some may argue I’m already slow enough. Which may be true, but slowness and presence is a different story altogether. It’s fascinating how quickly I can disassociate from my real life by just one “quick check” on my phone. The smartphone is the most brilliant and the most destructive invention that I’ve experienced in my lifetime thus far. As with anything, moderation takes practice, and discipline, I suppose.

I’ve also been finding so much joy in connecting with the plants and making medicines. I’ve bottled a bunch of new tinctures, and have even newer ones brewing. I’ve been making yoni steam blends, calendula-infused lip balms, salves…it’s been a lot of fun playing with the plants in my kitchen.

I’m also getting super excited about the Cacao Ceremony I’m hosting this month, in collaboration with Jenn and Kian. The theme of this ceremony is “Re-uniting with Love” and it’s intention is to be a deeply nourishing experience for Body, Mind, and Soul. With sacred movement, sound healing, a guided meditation, and of course a sacred cacao drink - together we will re-unite with the love within us, that is our truest essence.

• Caco Ceremony: Re-Uniting with Love - On Saturday, February 8th, from 2-4pm, I am thrilled to be hosting another Sacred Cacao Ceremony, in collaboration with Jennifer Rekker (sound healer) and Kian Merrikh (meditation facilitator). This sacred ceremony is an opportunity to tend to yourself, both physically and spiritually. Together we will delve deep into the realms within and the realms without to re-unite with Love. Love that is all around us, Love that is within us, Love that IS us.

There is a fire glowing bright in the center of the cave, and we are gathered around the fire in a circle. We are sitting on something unique to each of us. We are calm, and at ease, and paying close attention…
